I am aware that this has been asked for several times in this forum, but I just wanted to express the need for a timeline, where I can e.g. plan a theatre performance ahead and just have to trigger (or get the trigger via MIDI) to play the next clip. This is quite different from a VJ performance, but with an optional timeline VDMX might have the potential to replace traditional, hugely expensive theatre performance video tools.
Basically it should look like this:
- wait for trigger (e.g. SPACE key)
- play clip 1 once (e.g. an intro where a cube moves into the screen)
- play clip 2 in a loop (e.g. a rotating cube)
- wait for trigger
- play clip 3 once (e.g. an outro where the cube moves off the screen)
- wait for trigger (now we have black screen again)
- play clip 4 once
- play clip 5 in a loop
- wait for trigger
- play clip 6 once
and so on. Basically a timeline where I can trigger the appearance an dissappearance of videos.
Is this possible with the current beta version of VDMX somehow? I also need a different FX chain for every group of clips (1-3). Probably using Ableton Live for a timeline is a good solution?
