Hi,
I have happily used VDMX for years, but I always have some problems on keeping timings in sync (latencies). I use and I would like to use some calculations for control signals (lets say a lfo multiplied by midi controller level and sum it up with some other control and add the value to brightness, or some other simple modulation scheme). But if I do some calculations, even quite simple ones, control signals start to have frames of latency.
So I made a small tests to find out where these latencies come from. In one test I put only 10 sliders to custom control (in empty project) and set first ones value from clock, second slider gets value from first and so on. So this test made it visible that value on 10th slider is about half a second late from the first (with 24fps)..my guess is that it is 10 frames late from the original.
So is so that calculations in VDMX are calculated in a way that only one step of connected modulators are calculated in one frame? I ofcourse expected it to calculate whole pipe of connections in every frame, and this is now quite disappointing.
I made small video to demonstrate the problem (The interesting thing is from 1:45, before that video is just setting up the simplest test project)
