Pad/Button MIDI Controller Similar to Launchpad?

Hey everyone. Looking for a controller with a bunch of buttons/midi notes - but with the ability to change and assign multiple midi channels to it.

Been trying to sort the mapping on the Novation LAUNCH CONTROL MK2 - first, i picked up a Launchpad Mini, but then found out I was unable to change the midi channel. With the MK2, you can in Bootloader mode, which ive done. But when i press either User 1 or User 2 - my Comm Display still reads the signal as Channel 0....even though ive set them respectively to Channel 8 and 16 - anyone know what im doing wrong?
