Hi all
I made something I like playing around with VDMX by applying some animations to a static image (record sleeve) based upon audio stems. The goal is to have a movie to upload to Youtube with a more dynamic image than just a static cover shot.
I'm happily sending stems to different channels in various Audio Analysis units, routing the sound internally within the machine from my DAW and using them to drive animations.
The problem comes when I try to capture the performance in the Move Recorder - when I select the same Audio Source the drives the analysers within the recorder it seems to sum all channels with Play-Thru active when I only want to capture audio from a specific channel.
e.g.
stem 1 -> ch 1 -> some animation (inaudible, doesn't record)
stem 2 -> ch 2 -> some animation (inaudible, doesn't record)
mastered track -> ch 3+4 -> Movie Recorder
Is there a better approach?
I played with bringing the mastered track into VDMX as a layer and manually starting the DAW/VDMX at the same time but this is predictably clunky. I suppose I could map both to be triggered by some external interface over OSC but I have a feeling I'm missing something obvious here!
Thoughts welcome
