1. it would be great to have the option for restored fx presets to be added to the existing fx in a layer, rather than completely replacing them. perhaps with a mappable toggle in the layer window to switch between 'add' and 'replace' modes of fx preset restore.
the way i would use it would be to have all my frequently used fx modules set up as layer-specific fx presets, with midi mappings. then add them to layers via shortcuts, to quickly build chains, with a minimum of using the mouse.
the advantage would be that after building a chain, all the midi mappings and behaviours would already be set up, rather than having to set them up after building the chain.
2. (following on from the above, and a bit more involved). how about having an option for layer fx/chains which have been added to a layer by restoring a layer-fx preset to slave to the 'master' layer-fx preset - i.e. if any of the behaviours or mappings of the 'master' layer-fx preset are changed, then those changes cascade to all instances of that layer-fx preset, in all presets (e.g. 'full' presets) within a project.
the 'slaved' instances could perhaps be demarked in some way, or have a toggle (next to the on/off button?) to denote whether they were 'slaves' of a layer-fx preset, or stand-alone.
i appreciate that is quite an involved suggestion, but i make it because with an ever-growing set of project-presets (i.e. 'full' presets), even a simple change such as re-assigning the midi knob i use to control layer 1 contrast in all my project-presets creates a whole load of tedious work, going through each project-preset, and updating the midi assignment for that slider. very time consuming.
i tend to create my full-presets by modifying a template, which keeps evolving. if something like suggestion 2 were implemented, it would be much less of a chore to keep all my frequently-used layer-fx midi mappings/behaviours consistent throughout my collection of project-presets.
