Hi All,
Just discovered VDMX software and I love it already.
I have clips of different duration with different Chapter Markers of different times.
VDMX does see the markers. (File Inspector)
I found out that there are this two buttons Previous and Next to navigate to the Time Markers in the Movie Time Slider. (With the pop-up menu set to "Time Slider Mark")
That’s nice. But’d like to have the ability to jump/cue directly to a specific marker.
(for exemple pressing 1 brings me to the first marker, 2 to the second marker, etc).
I can do that for 1 clip. I give the clip Chapter Markers, using the file Inspector, or outside VDMX with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere CC.
Then select the marker in the MARKS tab of the Time Slider Ui. Set the first Marker to detect “1’, the second to detect “2” etc. I can even trigger those Markers with a Step Sequencer. But my problem is:
Those action are bound to those specific Marker times for that specific clip.
That means that I need to set a Data Source (or key) for every specific Marker in every clip. But I have a lot of clips and a lot of chapter markers per clip.
Maybe it's because I'm a newbie, but I can’t find a way to have the Movie Slider UI to have a data source that acts like an index for the Markers. I mean that if the Data Source would give the value "5" that the Movie Time Slider would move to Chapter Marker Number 5.
I hope you can help me to find a solution.
best
