It often needs.
Example: I need to use some image or movie as a UV map. Where red and green values of pixels color is normalized coordinates of texture (i attached example image of mask). But for nice result, map image must be 16bit, because 255 gradation of 8bit images is not enough for smooth mapping).
Is there any way to use 16bit images in VDMX? I need one layer for maps, and one layer for texture.
1. "imported" images in ISF is not a solution, for many reason, i need to control map image in VDMX.
2. Use pixels R and G value as 16bit x coordinate, and B and A values as y coordinate, is not universal solution, because there will be additional complexity with rendering maps. Also, it takes all four channels of image, and you cant add a light map as blue channel.
UV map is only example, there are many situations where the 16bit image needs. Is there a solution?
P.S. Sorry for language.
