Hey,
I have been considering the options for a triple head to go setup for a gig on NYE. I have read various posts on this forum and it seems the general consensus is that a triple head works pretty well with VDMX but you need to keep you layers and your resolutions down.
Most of these posts were discussing set ups utilising a macbook pro with 4 gigs of ram.
My question is this, everyone talks about the importance of Video ram, but how important is the computers ram in playing back layers and effects in a VDMX session with a Triple head type resolution.
If i was to use an Imac 3.01ghz with 16gb of conventional ram with only 256mgs of video ram - would that provide a lot of performance. Or is the video ram more important in playing back layers effects, etc. in VDMX.
Cheers
Tim
