My internal 500GB SSD drive on my MacBook Pro just can't handle my library of Hap clips. When I tried putting my library on an external USB3 drive the throughput could not handle the 7 HD clips I am pushing to layers at all times. The internal SSD drive has zero problem with this.
I have looked at the numbers for an external SSD drive hooked via Thunderbolt and they don't even get close to the capabilities of the internal drive. Or am I wrong about that?
Has anyone out there had any luck with external drives and very demanding VDMX sets? Any incite would be appreciated.
