fons, hi!
I'm running vdmxx under 10.3.3 & QT 6.5, & to clarify, the quits I've had have mostly been down to the problem that Michl mentioned where the old clips aren't "flushed" properly when loading a new folder.
That's why I trimmed my library down to one folder of 700 Mb, so that I wouldn't need to reload & once you're down to one folder, then a RAM disc makes sense. I should mention that, as well as the 1GHz PB, I use my old(er) 800 MHz PB & an Edirol V4. Both apples have 1 Gb of RAM & I run grid on the second machine, which means I can have lots of folders of stuff ready to use over VDMX using luma, chroma or whatever.
I've also had times when I've had to quit vdmx due to loss of control via the contour shuttle pro that I use. I now realise this was just operator error! I'd inadvertantly selected a module which hijacked the buttons I'd programmed!
The bottom line is that I'd quite like to see an improved manual but I know that topic has been done to death &, hopefully, there's one coming. I'd also like to see, however, better purging of RAM on a movie player reload as I feel this is also the cause of of the slowdown noted elsewhere.
As for the prefs, in Panther, if you type "VDMX" into the top right panel in any finder window, you'll get a list of all files & folders with "VDMX" in the name, including the prefs. You can then right (or control) click it to the trash straight from the list.
Cheers
