During yesterdays gig I experienced that when I select movies from my 'aux' palette some clips have problems with the 'drive' / 'rnd_loc' commands.
* The movie stops playback at an certain point. I can only reactivate PB
by setting the timeline indicator of the movie player to an earlier point (via mouse / scrubing with drive / or (with some luck) with 'rnd_loc') but
it doesn't playback any further than the timline point mentioned before. So PB stops until I go to an earlier point again.
This happened to almost all movies in my selection list. The filesize is approx. 10 - 30MB for each file. The files were streamed from an external FW HDD and are Vidvox Cleaner F.JPEG encoded. *
I think that I have to completly playback a clip once, before 'drive' / 'rnd_loc' will work properly.
When I load the clips with the drop-down list everything works fine.
* When I load clips into the drop-down list all files are displayed once with there first frame. Equally 'ram_preroll' on/off *
* My 'Input / Processors / Output / ... palette is still very often dead after launching V4.1 even if I use a MiniOs and auto-start (so I think there's no other application launched that forces VDMXX to do so ... perhaps a system process / application ? ). *
During the gig I also thought that the ability of moving the PB range selection in the movie player would be interesting when working with stitched footage to have single samples within on clip that you then could access easily ?! Just an idea
System performance and stability were great even with feedback and effects sliding.
