maybe of specialist interest only but...grabbing frames from vdmx ,I discovered a prob with image grabber.
have a preset with image grabber in, and grab some images. they are named image0001.tif , image0002.tif etc.
Then I swop to a different preset. grab some more images. BUT they overwrite the previous ones...because I have restarted Imagegrabber by changing presets, it doesnt pick up that these file names existed already , and just goes over them with new files of the same name.
damn, I wondered where all my images were going!
Workround: a superb little utility called Hazel http://www.noodlesoft.com/hazel.php
It can do loads of stuff esp. watch for new files and do something when they appear...I set a rule in Hazel to watch when any new file containing the word Image appears on the desktop, and rename it with a sequential suffix. so...they dont overwrite each other
Think Hazel would be useful for other stuff too for us type of heds.
Also a quick plug for http://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinde ... index.html which is a great batch file renamer I use a lot, a life saver
