I've been contacted to set up a projection mapping installation for a gallery that will run for about a month.
The last gig I did was an installation for 3 days - I showed up everyday to turn it on (power up the laptop, run vdmx, full screen it). The crew shut it off by basically cutting the power. It was an ok system for 3 days.
What would be a good process for a month long installation? I can't show up everyday so it would need to be something as easy as pressing a power button.
I'm thinking I have two options:
1) set up the installation & mapping with my laptop, then record the video output to a video/dvd. have the dvd run for the installation.
2) leave a mac mini behind after it's all set up. some type of automation where it would auto open vdmx and go to full screen output.
any other ideas? or other methods that might be good?
Thanks-
