I'm looking for a monitor that shall display the output of VDMX when I'm working on the project and don't have a beamer running.
VDMX is running on a MacBook pro 8,3.
What kind of panel should I choose? TN, IPS or MVA?
Does it matter?
The monitor should be fast enough to show the triggered clips in sync with Ableton Live without noticable delay, but it should also show the contrast and colors in a good quality. I think TN panels are very fast, MVA show a better contrast.
An option could be to compensate the delay of the monitor by setting the delay of the Ableton Live which sents midi signals to vdmx, so that any midi signals that trigger events in vdmx are being sent earlier.
I found a nice website where one can choose and compare monitors and filter the results by the features of the monitors, like panel type, pixel distance and so on :

I think I like the Dell P2714H…
