Having a brand new issue i've never seen where my projector is physically putting out a solid bright green line down the middle, photo attached. Any ideas on what/why this is and what caused it? Maybe a laser?

I haven't seen something like this with any projectors i used, but if a laser shined in the lens it could certainly be the cause. A friend of mine told me that one time two of the projectors where he worked got ruined by a laser. In that case there was a horizontal line through both of them :/.
Does any image come across in the area? If you run some video with black and white diagonal lines and enable and disable the color channels (RGB) does the green channel still work? In my experience (and I have a good many to speak of) when a laser ruined the projector in the past it fully burned out parts of the chip and would always look like dead pixels. It is possible that a laser has caused your issue or even a bad connection in the cable leading to the imaging chipset.
