Hello all,
I need to build a function and I would love to build it inside VDMX as a "simple" plugin and avoid having to use Jitter to do this. I'd like to have some specialists' point of view on that, being no true coder myself.
I would particularly like to know if you think it's a good idea to start the ISF way to develop this function and ideally get a few guidelines on how to get started developing it.
Specifications are the following :
- Input will be a square video file (same pixel height/width)
- The square video file will contain a disc which will, in the end, be projected onto a disc shaped screen
- I would like to sample 240 color points on the outline of the disc
- I would, ideally, like these sampled colors to be output as a "single-line" video (240x1 pixel video) to be displayed on a 240 LED long strip
- Sampling doesn't have to be "ideal", there can be rough approximations in the extraction of pixel data
I attached a picture for the specs to be clearer :
- The whole square is the video file itself
- The dashed part is the "unused" part of the file
- The red outline of the picture is where I'd like to sample my color points, I added a few guideline as to where I'd like to sample the 240 color values
I hope I'm making myself clear and I also hope I'm not going down on an impossible path
