I'm working with Dan Winckler on a VDMX setup that uses a QC patch he's made that plays small movies with alpha as sprites. Right now I am using png as the video codec , but I was wondering if anyone knew what codec might get the best performance. The only ones I know of that use alpha layers are png, animation, and ProRes 4444, and the last two seemed like they would be too bulky to use. I do see some slowdown now when I have more than 4 sprite-movies running at once.
