Talk about interactive languages like Quartz Composer, ISF, Vuo, FFGL, CoreImage, Processing, OpenFrameworks, or whatever else you are using to make live visuals.
do you guys have any tips or know of any good articles on making your QC compositions faster? I have some serious problems in a couple of my compositions and it would be nice to know some good places to start optimizing.
I usually try to avoid Render in Image as much as possible. If you use blurs a lot, you could look into using Vade's V002 blurs instead of the 'built-in' blurs. Also iterators are relatively slow, and if your composition allows it, you could use a Replicate in Space instead.
Aside from that, it all comes down to your specific composition. Maybe some folks here, on the QC list or over at Kineme are down for playing optimization tennis? I don't mind taking a look at them myself
