Hello
I am a new user of VDMX, only been experimenting with it for a short time and it is perfect for some VJ / live music projection work I have been doing.
I plan to use VDMX to creative live visuals for a band, the band supplies audio to a fire wire interface through separate channels which are then used for control signals. I need to have four separate feeds producing four spectrum graphs. I'm having trouble pulling this off and wanted to see if anyone here could help.
Annoyingly, in QC I cannot seem to specify different audio inputs on external audio cards in order to split up the four signals - is there something wrong with my system? I find it odd that this cannot be done, but QC only allows an input selection for the mac core audio input and inbuilt microphone. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm using QC on leopard.
VDMX can convert the audio into control messages that can be sent to a QC patch - but it seems very taxing to be able to split up the info back into frequency bands for QC to produce a spectrum to.
Is there anyway to send a control message from VDMX as a 'struct' for spectrum objects? That way you could create 16 bands in your audio analyzer plug-in and send to QC. Even then thats pretty complicated - I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this, any ideas?
Thanks for any help.
