I've been part of a VJ crew for more over than a year doing big festival. Just recently we've decided to go our own way and started a new company. Still doing Vj gigs, but with big emphasis on creating new ways of visualizing and interaction.
It just happens that we were asked to provide a 9 day (plus 1 extra for the volunteers) live visuals performance during the after parties of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. We worked with a Media wall with to high of a resolution (lets say about 10800 x 2100 pixels). Because we wanted the flexibility of analogue VJ'ing, we decided to emulate it with VDMX. We used 720p footage to preserve reactivity and have the best possible quality.

The International Film Festival Rotterdam is one of the biggest leading film festival in the world. During the 10 days of the festival people from all over the world gather around to watch the newest and innovating movies in the industry.
Everday after all the screenings there was a party held in the 'Rotterdamse Schouwburg'. Being the official lounge & festival cafe it is the place where most people gather. This year was the premiere of the biggest Media Wall in the Netherlands. We had the chance to provide Live VJ performance every evening during the whole festival. Ten days straight mind blowing visual experience along side a wide variety of local Dj's: Jules Deelder, Mind Eye, David Funk, Thelonious & Lucky Dubz, Humobisten, Martin Roedolf & Martin de Korte, Seutek, Dj Okkie and Soulpat
Because of the long period we were performing, we took the chance to get it done right and step up the game. We provided a system which was run on a dedicated computer with a custom made interface, controlled by iPads. This gave us the opportunity to mix in full HD video while still having all of the controls at our disposal that we usually have with non-HD performances.
